Cooking and baking have always been an important part of my life. When my mother was seriously ill, I took it upon myself, at age 10, to make Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings. Cooking and especially baking, have always given me a great deal of pleasure. I love to create wonderful things from my kitchen and get a big kick of watching others enjoy that magical first taste.
In 1964, when I graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago, going to culinary school would have been a difficult road at best. In 1964, women were not exactly welcomed into that man’s world.
But, in 2006, when I turned 60, I finally brought to life the dream she had had dreamed for a very long time and started Flour Power Baking Co.
Over time, I’ve amassed a large repertoire of baked goods, some of which people ask for over and over. For the Holiday Season, she is famous for the gifts of cookies and chocolate truffles that a few select friends, family and her husband’s business associates start asking for in October.
An additional service that Flour Power offers is to prepare a special recipe of yours that you don’t have the time to prepare. Share your favorite recipe with me and, within 24-48 hours, I’ll produce your baked memory to enjoy. I can even make your favorite four-legged buddy special dog biscuits to Phydo’s taste.
Let her know how I can help you with dessert for a special dinner party, a holiday table or just because you want some really tasty scones for breakfast.
