I got my first pygmy goat as a Valentine present in 2000. We quickly found out that pygmy goats are only good as pets, so we sold the pygmy goat and bought two dairy goats.

Two dairy goats produce a lot of milk - more than we would ever need. I hate throwing away good milk. So I started searching the Internet to find out what I could do with the extra goat's milk. That is where I learned about goat's milk soap. After about a year of experimenting, I developed my current recipe. and the lotion shortly followed.

Those two original dairy goats are no longer with us.  Our herd has now expanded to about 30 goats.  We now raise both dairy and meat goats.  We will have goat meat available for sale this year.  In the last 9 years of raising goats, we have won Grand Champion Alpine Dairy Goat at the Clermont County Fair in 2005, our lotions have won second and third place prizes in the national American Dairy Goat Association Bath and Body Product Competition and I was interviewed for Cincy Magazine in 2008.  What fun it has been raising goats!

In addition to the soap making, I started experimenting making cheese and fudge. I even bought a cheese press and have been working on recipes for hard cheese. We also found out that goat's milk makes wonderful ice cream!!!

Besides, the goats we also raise a small flock of chickens and ducks.  Duck eggs are wonderful for baking.  We chose the Khaki Campbell Ducks because they are the consistent eggs layers.  And, we do have a few Aracuna chickens (also known as the Easter Egg Chicken) because they lay blue, green and sometimes pink eggs.
